1. AGRICULTURE SUPERINTENDENTS-SM2 (2 positions)

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
  • Producing accurate monthly cane position;
  • ii. Planning farmers’ contracting and cane development to meet factory requirements;
  • iii. Ensuring adherence to farmers’ contracting procedures/policies;
  • iv. Ensuring effective extension services to farmers;
  • v. Ensuring that adherence to Good Agricultural Practices both in the Nucleus Estate and Outgrowers.

2. ROADS MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT –SM2 (1 position)

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Planning, designing and implementing all roads repair, maintenance and
  • construction works within the company and outgrowers region;
  • ii. Ensuring timely repairs and maintenance of water drainage structures within the
  • company premises;
  • iii. Preparing specifications and oversee execution of construction of key roads structures
  • such as side drains, bridges, box culverts and drop structures;
  • iv. managing road construction Machines and equipment;
  • v. Ensuring Compliance with all NTSA and OSHA requirements during roads

3. AGRICULTURE WORKSHOP SUPERINTENDENT – SM2 (1 position)

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • iii. Ensuring operations parameter and targets are achieved;

4. BUSINESS ANALYST SAP-SM1 (1 position)

This position is responsible for providing a wide range of business application services including new application design and construction, systems integration, and maintenance support of existing business solutions. The Business Analyst will be working with Users, Vendors and Quality Assurance Teams to understand the system requirements and the configuration of business systems that meet those requirements. This position shall be solely 
responsible for the SAP-ERP System
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
  • Eliciting requirements on system needs from Company stakeholders using
  • interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business
  • process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow
  • analysis;
  • ii. Evaluating information gathered from the various stakeholders, reconcile anomalies,
  • and decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level
  • information to a general understanding;
  • iii. Working with user departments to continuously identify changing business

5. NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR-SM1 (1position)

The Network Administrator shall be responsible for first hand diagnosis, repair and restoration of the computer hardware, printers, scanners, UPS, networks and Network Equipment to guarantee maximum, robust and secure network availability. The person carries out continuous assessment and repairs of the Wired and non-Wired Connectivity
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
  • Carrying out site surveys, designing requisite network design, documenting and
  • ensuring relevant configurations to guarantee maximum, robust and secure
  • availability;
  • ii. Carrying out prompt preventative maintenance, repair and
  • reinstatement/reinstallation of all computer hardware and network;

6. SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR-SM1-(1position)

The System Administrator is responsible for providing effective operational and maintenance support for the Network ,Windows, Linux, UNIX, Solaris and related servers that host SAP ERP , Agriculture Management System , Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory .
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
  • Ensuring high availability (99.9%) of the servers to support mission critical
  • applications;
  • ii. Ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related
  • procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and business partners;
  • iii. Custodian of all ICT hardware and Software inventory and ensure that an upto date
  • ICT Assets Register is maintained;
  • iv. Day to day management of the Data Centre(s);
  • v. Designs, deploy and maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), VLAN and Wide Area
  • Network (WAN);
  • vi. Managing, Configuring and maintaining of all the Windows Server OS, Solaris OS,

The job holder is responsible for implementing the ICT Security component in SonySugar within the Corporate Integrated Security Management.

16. SHIFT LAB SUPERVISORS – SM 3 (2 positions)

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail: 
  • Receiving, processing and analyzing samples;
  • ii. Designing and conducting laboratory tests according to standard procedures tests are
  • conducted as the required per standards;
  • iii. Ensuring proper sampling of soil, leaf, cane and fertilizer and for analysis;
  • iv. Ensuring proper sampling of juice from sugarcane for analysis;
  • v. Preparing sampled materials prior to analysis;
  • vi. Carrying out the analysis using the most modern methods;
  • vii. Ensuring provision of quality domestic and factory water suppliers;
  • viii. Ensure proper sampling of efficient materials for analysis to inform management of
  • factory discharge to meet EMCA set standards;
  • ix. Handling and storing of chemicals and other laboratory material
  • x. Preparing Laboratory reports and interpreting analyzed data;
  • xi. Ensuring that safety laboratory precautions are adhered to;
  • xii. Organizing for calibration and standardization of lab equipment;
  • xiii. Ensuring that proper cane quality assessment is done at weighbridge;
  • xiv. Carrying out mill test on cane varieties;
  • xv. Keeping inventory of laboratory equipment and data;
  • xvi. Ensuring cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment;
  • xvii. Ensuring environment, health and safety standards are maintained.
Job Specification;
  • Bachelor degree in Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or
  • equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR Higher Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or
  • equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  •  Three (3) years relevant work experience;
  •  Professional qualification and membership where applicable;
  •  Valid practicing license where applicable;
  •  Proficiency in computer applications; and
  •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution

17. ELECTRICIANS –UG9 (3 positions)

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
  • Servicing and repair of all electrical installations in offices, institutions and residential
  • buildings;
  • ii. Servicing and testing of electrical switchgears;
  • iii. Trouble-shooting and rectifying electrical equipment breakdowns and malfunctions;
  • iv. Servicing and repair of electricity distribution infrastructure;
  • v. Servicing and repair of welding machines;
  • vi. Carrying out of motor repairs;
Job Specification;
  • Diploma in Electrical engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized
  • institution;
  •  Three (3) years relevant work experience;
  •  Proficiency in Computer applications
  •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution

18. FITTERS –UG9 (2 positions)

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
  • Machining of parts for repairs and maintenance works;
  • ii. Inspecting equipment to identify defects and implementing rectification;
  • iii. Implementing preventive maintenance programs;
  • iv. Attending to and repairing equipment breakdowns to ensure machine availability.
  • v. Monitoring operations to detect defects;
  • vi. Assisting in undertaking new machine and equipment installations;
  • vii. Inspecting running equipment to identify defects and implementing rectification;
Job Specification;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D+ or its equivalent from a
  • recognized institution;
  •  Three (3) years’ relevant work experience.
  •  Government Trade Test I (GTT I) in General Fitting, or equivalent qualification from
  • a recognized institution;
  •  Proficiency in computer applications; and
  •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution

19. WELDERS –UG9 (3 positions)

Duties and responsibilities will entail:
  • Fabricating new parts for repairs and maintenance works;
  • ii. Reconditioning of old parts for repair and maintenance purposes;
  • iii. Inspecting equipment to identify defects and implementing rectification;
  • iv. Implementing preventive maintenance programs;
  • v. Attending to and repairing equipment breakdowns to ensure machine availability.
  • vi. Monitoring operations to detect defects;
  • vii. Assisting in undertaking new machine and equipment installations;
  • viii. Inspecting running equipment to identify defects and implementing rectification;
Job Specification;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D+ or its equivalent from a
  • recognized institution;
  •  Government Trade Test I (GTT I) in Welding, or equivalent qualification from a
  • recognized institution;
  •  Five (5) years’ relevant work experience.
  •  Proficiency in computer applications; and
